my hard disk has become corrupt
i am using my mums laptop to write this post
so your probably wondering how this affects you
well the fact that your on this page probably means you have me on your favourite and your checking up on me (if that is the case i love you) or you have heard one of my pieces and you have decided top check me out (and if that is the case i love you also)

this affects you like this:

I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE MUSIC FOR A LONG TIME
A VERY LONG TIME

it also means i've lost every thing:
samples
every synth i've ever made
drum sounds
custom drum kits
project files

yes, project files these include:

another drum and blues type piece
sonic colours 2
another reece experiment piece (think the tubes)
a complete remake of the traveller
an idm experiment piece
another ambient DnB piece
a breakbeat piece
an epic DnB piece
the ctsg file (if anyone wants to over that for me please let me know because i still would love to see that happen)
and many many more things

yeah ill write again when i have something to say

over and out
SB

ok so if you've been following my posts (and ill assume you have been) you'll know that ive been working on something big

i have decided to leave it alone for a while for a number of reasons:

1. i have no idea where i want it to go
2. my comp dies whenever i even press a note on my midi keyboard on that file let alone try to play the song
3. i feel that i should have something new out seeing as i have attracted a few extra fans with the recent success of sonic colours

so with that out of the way i am open to suggestions

what sort of song do ya wanna hear (compare to old pieces of mine so i get a good idea :))

oh and one more thing if you love sonic colours i may have something in store for you...

ok with my mac peice out of the way i can concentrat on my new tune its coming along ok but im really stuck for a melody

however

to pass the time till it comes out you can ask me any yes/no questions you want (preferably about this new tune)

SB

EDIT: polarity reversal is NOT the piece i am talking about above PR is a small experiment and filler

ok some info for anyone who cares

I AM working on a new tune

it IS sounding very good (in my humble opinion)

and it could turn out to be my best yet

BUT

first im gonna do a peice for the new MAC

and after that its gonna be a while before i finish it

BECAUSE

A)
its quite demanding for my computer to handle such awesomeness (that and the fact its quite complex)

B)
im still stuck for a melody and as to what sort of synth to do it on

C)
I do have a life outside my production

anyone wanna start a conversation or ask questions please feel free to reply

hi all
wanna know how to make reeces on logic?

create a blank software instrument track

equip it with the es2 synth

on the es2 presets go in to tutorial settings and select "analog saw unison"

notice that there are 3 waves in operation i prefer to turn off the one that isnt ofset by a couple of cents but thats your choice

on the 2 wave that are offset play around with how off set they are although make sure that they are always balance otherwise the sound will be out of tune

ok now turn the distortion on the es2 up to full (or less if you prefer it) and change the chorus to flanger
play with the tone of the distortion and speed and tone of the flanger

cool you should now have the basic reece sound now what you need to do is create an auto filter on the same track as your reece - leave it as default

play with the resonance and filter type (high-pass = HP ect) and play whilst turning the cutoff switch and when your ready you can record a simple reece line and automate its cutoff through automation

btw on whiplash i layered up a couple of different reeces layered on top of each other with different filter types

happy reecing :D

btw i did this coz i was bored
